Christmas Comfort Foods

Heyyyyy! Today, it is all about FOOD.
I haven't talked much about food on my blog (other than my gingerbread house of course), but today for Blogmas, I thought that I would tell you all about my favourite comfort foods that I could snack on all day around Christmas time.

Mini Caramel Fudge Cakes from Waitrose...
Oh my days! My dad bought a box of these tiny little cakes home that looked like they had been sprinkled with snow, and they were everything I loved in a cake and more. Caramel AND fudge. I mean, how could you top that?
I could eat these cakes for days, and they are so cute and festive with their swirly, snowy design.
Yule Log
A good old chocolate log filled with chocolate cream (not vanilla!) is a must. Every Christmas we get through a few of these, mainly because of me, but the chocolatty overload is just too much not to eat!!
Pigs in Blankets
Whoooooo... I get so excited every year for the pigs in blankets. We don't tend to eat them at any other time other than Christmas in the Harper household, which makes for even more excitment when it comes time for the pigs in blankets.
You cannot beat sausage and bacon all in one!
Roast Potatoes
On Sunday lunches and especially Christmas day, my Nan does the most amazing roast potatoes. I am a bit of the black sheep in my family in a lot of ways, but one defining way I have segregated myself from the rest of the family, is by me having tomato ketchup on my Sunday lunches, and Christmas dinner. I just cannot have my roast potatoes (or anything else for that matter) without them!!
Party Food
Last, but not least, one of my favourite 'genres' of food on the planet... Party food.
There is something about miniature food that you get at all-you-can-eat buffets that I absolutely love. They just do not seem to fill you up, which means you can keep going up to a buffet for more and more.
The crisp pastries and the flavoursome fillings fill my heart with happiness. Ugh, if I had to eat party food for the rest of my life, I would be quite happy!
So, there you have it. My top five favourite foods to have around Christmas time.
See you tomorrow...
Francesca xx
