Today, I bring you one of THE best books that I have ever read... Let It Snow, by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle...
A couple of years ago, I found my self in a real book slump, and I couldn't find something that I really wanted to read. I was watching a book-tuber at the time - Sasha Alsberg - and she said that she had gone through the same thing multiple times. Her advice; read something without hesistation, that you know you will probably enjoy, and that isn't massive.
I mean, who wants to be reading Great Expectations when they are struggling to get through The Hunger Games?
So, that is what I did. It was cold outside, and cosy in my room. I had placed Let It Snow on my book shelf (like the majority of my other books) on my shelf for a very long time, and the title, and pretty front cover, enticed me.
I am a sucker for a romance. Whether on the big screen, little screen or pages of a book, I love a good romance story, like: If I Stay, All The Bright Places, Night Owls. They are all books that I LOVE. So, I gave it a go, and it didn't dissapoint.
Totally to my surprise I wizzed through the book, but not in the way that you wish you hadn't because it felt rushed. The colaborative writing style, and the clever way that all three separate stories intertwined made for a magical read, and a new reading experience which was refreshing.
The only negative was that I was left wanting more from each of the three stories. In a small space of time I grew attached to the characters bound in the winter season. My intrigue was adopted, and I hope that I can find another colaborative novel like this one in the future!!
(Any recomendations, let me know!!)
I made the dangerous choice of venturing into Waterstones yesterday will free reighn for what books I would like for Christmas. Let's just say that I left with quite a few books!! After a lot of thinking, I have vowed to myself that I am going to read more in 2018, and actually set a goal. 'Good Reads' app here I come!!
So, if you are stuck for a winter romance novel to lift you from a book rut, you don't know what elese to put on your Christmas list, or you just want to induldge a little, definitely pay a visit to the John Green section in your local Waterstones, and grab yourself a copy of Let It Snow!
Thank you for reading...
See you tomorrow,
Francesca xx
